What we check before quoting
An EV charger needs available power and a dedicated circuit — it's not simply plugging a charger into any socket. Before quoting, we check:
- Contracted power and the margin available at the fuse board
- Distance between the fuse board and where you park
- Whether the garage is private or shared (this changes the type of installation and paperwork)
- Whether the circuit needs protecting and whether a new or upgraded fuse board is needed
Installing in shared garages
In residents' associations, the installation usually needs an individual supply line from the main fuse board, or a shared-charging management system if several neighbours want their own chargers.
We help you work out the right technical solution and, if the garage is shared, with the paperwork needed to present it to the residents' association.

Do I need to increase my contracted power to install a charger?
It depends on your current power and the rest of the property's consumption. We check this during the visit — not every installation needs more power.
I live in a flat with a shared garage — can I install my own charger?
Yes, regulations recognise the right to install an individual charger in a garage space, although the process and installation vary depending on how much shared power capacity is available.
What's the difference between a regular socket and a wallbox?
A wallbox has protections specific to vehicle charging and manages power more safely and efficiently than a regular socket, which isn't designed for hours-long sustained loads.
